Role Title:  Review and Placement officer (RPO)

Location: Various college campus

Contract Type: Full time, Fixed term (6 months initially)

Salary:  £26,273 - £28,546

We currently have a vacancy for a Review and Placement Officer (RPO) within our Foundation Learning, ILS & Jobs Growth Wales+ Directorate

Reporting to: Curriculum Director of Jobs Growth Wales +

Overview of the role:

The RPO will work with partners and stakeholders to recruit learners onto the Jobs Growth Wales+  programme across the various college sites (or other venues as identified)  They will provide pastoral support for learners which will include extensive engagement with a variety of specialist support and referral agencies. They will carry out effective marketing to local employers to identify and secure appropriate work tasters and placements, for learners to gain a general insight into specific sectors of industry and commerce.

Working with local employers to ensure that placements are secured in line with recommended occupational areas as advised by the Employability mentor.

They will ensure effective caseload management, and review the learners in placement/or learning environment to monitor progress against agreed set objectives. (as prescribed within WG contractual requirements) and undertake appropriate corrective action to ensure achievement.

The RPO will contribute to the achievement of objectives and targets as outlined in the operational plan for work-based learning.

Essential Requirements

Robust literacy and numeracy skills

Well-developed Communication and ICT Skills

Previous experience of liaising with employers

Relevant experience of working with the client group

Effective and successful management of time and resource to meet challenging targets

Promoting and implementing healthy and safe practice

A full driving licence, appropriate motor vehicle with business use insurance cover

Recognising the importance of pastoral care
