Role Title: Residential Youth Officer (Accomodation)

Here at Coleg Cambria we are now looking to recruit 2 part time youth officers based at our Llysfasi site on a permanent basis.
A part of the role the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the service and student experience for the learners who reside in the Hostel. You will also be required to take on the running of activities and hostel administration as well as ensuring all of the National Minimum Care Standards documentation in keeping with the CIW (Care in Wales) legal recommendations are up to date and maintained.
The hours are part time - on a 2 week rota where the cover will be Saturday /Sunday night 7pm-11pm (with sleep in until 8:30am), Monday night 4:30pm-11pm (with sleep in until 8:30am), Tuesday night 4:30pm-11pm (with sleep in until 8:30am), Wednesday night 4:30pm-11pm (with sleep in until 8:30am), Thursday night 4:30pm-11pm (with sleep in until 8:30am)
You will be the first point of contact for students and responsible for safeguarding referrals, interventions and concerns, including liaising with appropriate agencies and support networks and will offer advice and guidance where necessary.
Essential Requirements
Youth Work related qualification
GCSE Grade C or above in Literacy and Numeracy
Experience of working with young people
Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification
Full driving licence
Excellent personal resilience
Ability to deal with sensitive situations
Empathy when dealing with others
