This post provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for a pro-active, enthusiastic, skilled and innovative lecturer with a strong proven record in teaching A Level Psychology. If you are a committed, experienced and ambitious individual, who loves teaching 16 years+ young adults, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

You will be key in the delivery of A Level Psychology, and teach 24 hours per week delivering the psychology units in Theoretical and Research Methods to our adult Access learners. In addition, the postholder will be a tutor for an A Level group. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lecturer to join a department achieving year-on year improvements in student outcomes and scope to drive the direction of this very popular subject within a very successful Faculty. You will be familiar with the WJEC specifications and have experience of preparing students for external examinations, enabling them to progress to the most competitive universities. Many of our A Level Psychology students go on to study courses in Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Criminology, Sports Psychology and Analytics, Forensics, and other science and social science degrees. You will help our students to achieve their ambitions at the best universities and on the most competitive courses.

The post provides an excellent opportunity to combine your exceptional skills in teaching and learning with high level planning and organisation. The postholder will be expected to have a good knowledge of the WJEC A Level Psychology syllabus and in preparing learners for external exams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Criteria:

Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
Teaching qualification
GCSE/O Level English and Mathematics at minimum Grade C
Documented evidence of appropriate Professional Development
Relevant teaching experience
Evidence of innovative teaching and learning activities
Evidence of effective tracking and monitoring of learner performance
Experience of actively participating in the pastoral care of young people
Good literacy and numeracy skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing
Sound understanding of digital literacy
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to work harmoniously with learners and colleagues
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent punctuality and ability to work flexibly

Desirable Criteria:

A good understanding of relevant issues in post 16 education
A proven track record of high levels of learner attainment
Awareness of key performance indicators
A current driving licence
