Role Title: Employability Coach
Location: Yale - with the ability to travel to other sites when required
Contract Type: Permanent: Full time
Salary: £25,203 - £27,587
We currently have a vacancy for an Employability Coach operating from the Wrexham Job shops, to support learners to improve employability skills and access employment opportunities. The employability coach is also required to deliver Employability support at Llysfasi campus as agreed with the site assistant principal.
The successful candidate will equip learners with the fundamental employability skills required to secure placement opportunities or progression into voluntary work/apprenticeships/employment through group workshops and 1-2-1’s. They will provide appropriate support with CV / application writing and interview skills. They will effectively liaise with Further education staff and learners and work closely with the Employer engagement team to create and develop employer relationships.
In addition to this they will support Employer career events and wider cambria events throughout the academic year. They will undertake periodic trainee reviews as prescribed within Welsh government contractual requirements, and prepare and agree coaching activities to meet the needs of both organisations and individuals.
Essential Requirements
Relevant level 3 qualification
Robust literacy and numeracy and digital literacy skills
Previous experience of liaising with employers
Previous experience of working with appropriate key stakeholders
Relevant experience of working with young people
Relevant experience of pastoral/employability support
Effective and successful management of time and resource to meet challenging targets
Promoting and implementing healthy and safe practice
A ‘Can Do’ attitude to targets and problem solving
Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding
A full driving licence, appropriate motor vehicle with business use insurance cover
An understanding and commitment to continuous measurement of and improvement in the quality of service provided to users
Recognising the importance of employability skills
Knowledge and experience of key stakeholders, and the ability to network effectively
An appreciation of the importance of having empathy with service users
A good general understanding of the support needs of learners irrespective of age, background, creed, and colour
Self motivation and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
Style and strength of character with integrity and ability to inspire confidence in clients and peers
A genuine desire to take maximum advantage of an excellent learning and career opportunity
An ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to translate ideas into action
