Children and Young People Support Worker

Adoption UK Wales
Adoption UK is the leading charity providing support, community, and advocacy for all those parenting or supporting children who cannot live with their birth parents. Our vision is for an equal chance of a bright future for every child unable to live with their birth parents.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Children and Young People Support Worker within our Connected team at Adoption UK.

The role involves the development, delivery and promotion of the Children and Young People Service in the Western Bay and West Wales adoption service areas. You will work closely with the team to ensure families are aware of and can access adoption support services.

The right person for this role will have previous experience of working with children and/or young people and will ideally be qualified to level 3 in Youth Work. You will have an understanding of the particular challenges for adopted children, and you will be able to work some evenings and weekends.

If you have a passion for making a difference and share in our vision for adoptive and kinship care families, we would like to hear from you.

This is a part time post of 16 hours per week, working from our Carmarthen office, with travel around the region. The role is on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2022 with the strong likelihood of extension subject to funding.
The role attracts a salary of £18,418.40, pro-rated to 16 hours.

Before completing the application form, we highly encourage you download the candidate pack. This pack contains the Role Profile and guidance notes which will help you to complete the application form against the criteria we are looking for.

We are committed to being an inclusive charity, and we welcome and encourage applications from all sections of the community.

As a UK wide charity, we aim to have representation from all constituent nations.

We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect everyone working with us to share this commitment.
