The College Merthyr Tydfil wishes to appoint a Bilingual Engagement Officer to create and develop opportunities for learners to acquire, develop and maintain their Welsh Language skills during their time in college.
The successful post holder will be required to join the Welsh language team to establish a Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Bilingual Engagement Officer within The College Merthyr Tydfil and with a passion for further developing and promoting opportunities for students and staff to use the Welsh language on a daily basis.
The post holder will be to work closely with the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol as the main point of contact. This will also include monitoring of all grant related provision.
The post holder will assist in the planning of a Welsh-medium and bilingual curriculum within priority areas and will work closely with curriculum managers.
The post holder will support the Welsh Language Team to ensure that the targets agreed within the Welsh and Bilingual Strategy to increase the number of learners completing elements of their course in Welsh are met.
The post holder will work with colleges across South East Wales in order to share good practice and resources.
The post is for 35 hours per week, term time only.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and and register with the Education Workforce Council.
