This is a full-time, temporary role providing maternity cover from the 4th September 2023 - 19th July 2024.

The Education Support Service is looking to appoint a highly motivated Attendance Support Officer to contribute to the strategic development of the assessment and intervention centre. Noddfa has two distinct provisions, one is an assessment and intervention centre for 0-25 years offering multi-agency and outreach support across Wrexham County Borough Council and the other provides 3 dedicated classrooms for pupils with Autism and Social Communication Difficulties in KS1 and KS2.

The successful candidate will provide support and challenge to schools and families on matters primarily relating to school attendance, exclusion and safeguarding in line with departmental and national legislation, guidance and policy.

The successful candidate will show empathy and patience as they will be working with children and young people who have ALN, in particular social, emotional and behavioural needs.

They will be enthusiastic about being part of a nurturing team and passionate about working with families and schools in order to improve outcomes.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake assessments and be able to co-ordinate support for service users. The candidate must be a good team player with excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

Court work experience is desirable but is not essential.

An enhanced DBS & Social Council for Wales registration is required for this position.
