The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, talented and highly motivated individual to lead our excellent English A level team at Gower college Swansea. The role is for a two year fixed term due to the secondment of our current Curriculum Leader for English.
0.7 Fractional (26 hours per week)
Temporary for 2 years
£15,806.70 - £31,109 per annum (depending on qualifications and/or experience)
Gorseinon Campus
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to apply for a Curriculum Leader role on appointment.
Key Responsibilities:
To work with the team to deliver A level English Language, English Language and Literature and English Literature, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning across all three full time courses. To deliver the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate to A Level learners.
Effectively monitor and track learner progress, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential in terms of academic, social and personal development.
Applicants will have a commitment to continuous improvement, will contribute effectively to curriculum development, extracurricular activity and assist with the planning and marketing of courses.
To keep up to date with examination board developments within the subject area
About you:
Possess a suitable English degree and a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
The ability to effectively deliver and assess on all curriculum identified.
A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire the A level learners.
Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
