The Head Teacher, children, staff and Governing Body of St. Andrew’s Primary School are looking for a ‘Learning and Achievement Leader’, who is an exceptional, highly-motivated, innovative, creative practitioner and is committed to children's learning, wellbeing and the raising of standards. We are a vibrant forward thinking school with a highly committed, dedicated and hard-working team who strive towards achieving the highest standards for all our children.

We are looking for someone who thrives on challenge, is highly-organised, able to lead others and committed to obtaining best value for our pupils. St. Andrew's Primary School and the Governing Body are looking to appoint a leader to contribute towards its teaching and learning, leadership and management. The role initially will be to lead our 80 place Nursery setting and manage Additional Learning Needs for Early Years, including transition to school from non-maintained settings. Experience of additional learning needs and working within progression Step 1 is essential for this post.

This position is part of the Senior Management Team of St. Andrew's Primary School and requires working closely with the Head Teacher, Governors and the whole school community. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated and caring staff in order to promote excellent standards for pupils who are both hard-working and happy.

We are seeking excellent practitioners who have:

- The ability to inspire children to have a love of learning.

- Enthusiasm and a commitment to professional development.

- Total dedication to the inclusion of all pupils.

- High aspirations for developing pupil participation in the planning process of learning via a practical, hands-on, real life skills based curriculum.

- A keen interest in extra-curricular activities.

- A clear understanding of skills based curriculum, in particular the Literacy and Numeracy Framework.

- The ability to teach Welsh as a second language.

- The ability to contribute to the development and improvement of the school as a whole.

- Expertise in digital learning.

- An understanding of teaching children with English as an additional language.

- The ability to develop children to be reflective learners.

- A good understanding of both Foundation Phase and a skills based curriculum at Key Stage 2.

- Experience and knowledge of effective transition between Early Years settings (non-maintained) and Nursery / Reception classes.

- An ability to lead and manage pupils with additional learning needs including working with outside agencies.

The job will initially be based in Nursery as Nursery Manager however this is flexible over time.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
