The children, staff and governors of Marshfield Primary School are looking for an inspirational, forward thinking teacher with proven high-quality leadership skills to take up the newly formed post of Assistant Head Teacher at our school.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our school and become part of our learning community at a key time of curriculum transformation in Wales.

Our Assistant Head Teacher will inspire and support an enthusiastic team, be an excellent and innovative teacher, communicate well with all stakeholders and play an active part in our community focussed school. The successful applicant will assist us in fulfilling our mission: ’Together: caring, aspiring and achieving.’

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious, enthusiastic, friendly and resilient Assistant Head Teacher who will be proud to represent the school community of Marshfield Primary School. This is an opportunity for a dedicated and innovative leader to enhance their leadership skills in a welcoming and thriving school.

You will need extensive knowledge of the New Curriculum and be expected to take the lead for professional learning and wellbeing across the school, but will also be involved in all aspects of school development.

As Assistant Head Teacher, you will:

- Help to shape the future vision of the school, promote excellence, equality and the highest expectations for our children.

- Continue to develop the excellent work already embedded by our school leaders at Marshfield.

- Be proactive in driving school improvement.

- Have an extensive knowledge of how to support the whole school’s emotional and mental wellbeing.

- Have a strong commitment to developing professional learning in order to positively impact on the outcomes of all learners.

- Build effective networks to share professional knowledge, research and practical expertise that enables both the school and other schools to benefit through mutual collaboration.

- Develop and nurture leadership potential in others at all levels.

- Develop, empower and sustain effective individuals and teams through distributed leadership, encouraging reflective practice.

- Demonstrate and promote the values and dispositions of the Professional Standards for teaching and leadership in Wales.

- Be an exemplary classroom practitioner and have a passion to ensure that every child succeeds.

- Have a clear vision of what makes an excellent school.

- A proven record of successfully implementing new initiatives.

- An excellent understanding of curriculum development.

- Have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change.

The governors will provide support and continued professional development for the successful candidate who will demonstrate a commitment to work closely with the Head Teacher to provide high quality leadership and the best possible education for the pupils of Marshfield Primary School.
