The governing body would like to appoint an outstanding Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCO), to support a dedicated and friendly team of staff who want to achieve the best for every pupil. We are seeking an inspirational individual who will take the lead in supporting children to develop holistically. The successful candidate will:
  • Have at least five years teaching experience.
  • Be passionate about supporting children with ALN.
  • Be experienced and trained in writing Individual Development Plans, converting statements to IDPs and understand the referral processes.
  • Have experience of teaching and supporting learners with a wide range of complex and specific needs.
  • Be motivated, organised and able to work to deadlines.
  • Be able to write accurate reports to support teachers to plan and lead engaging activities for children with ALN so that they can make excellent progress.
  • Monitor and plan the provision set out in the children's IDP and help to review these plans during Person Centred Reviews.
  • Engage with parents effectively and build excellent relationships with children and their families.
  • Have high expectations for all children.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities as set out in the job description.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team in conjunction with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, staff, children and governors.
  • Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community.
