Job Title: Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in Aerospace

Salary: £22,583 - £44,444 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering within the Aerospace department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based at the ICAT Campus.

Responsibilities include:

• Undertaking of all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial work and marking
• Conducting student assessments in order to place students, monitor progress and identify learning support needs
• Providing appropriate student support in order to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners and ensuring that all relevant information is recorded on the appropriate College systems
• Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above. This includes, inter alia, attending team meetings, taking part in professional development activities and staff appraisals, maintaining accurate teaching-related records including details of assessment and attendance
• Taking part in course evaluation activities and contributing to the development of the curriculum
• Welsh language skills would be desirable for this role.

The successful candidate will have a recognised apprenticeship or have undertaken a course of study in Mechanical Engineering and or CAD disciplines to a minimum of level 5 giving them the breadth and depth of specialist knowledge, experience in the training or teaching of Mechanical Engineering and or Aircraft (Mechanical)Engineering and 2D & 3D CAD.
