Are you looking for a wonderful opportunity to join a forward-thinking team, who focus on making a difference to our young learners and their families? As we are restructuring our teaching assistant team, we have a number of opportunities here at Monnow Primary School.

Monnow Primary School are looking to appoint a level 2 Teaching Assistant to work in our innovative Early Years team.

We are looking to appoint an individual who has proven to have a commitment and passion for Early Years pedagogy. Here at Monnow the sense of Team Work underpins all that we do and we are looking for someone who will further add to the team dynamics. The role requires a practitioner who is passionate, enthusiastic and who will bring a vibrancy to complement our Early Years setting. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude and caring approach.

You will have experience of effictively working with children in a school setting as well as experience of supporting children with additional needs.

Skills/Qualifications:

* A passionate and positive, kind attitude towards working with children
* Be innovative and creative in order to develop our learners’ curiosities
* Experience of working with children within a Foundation Phase environment
* Understanding of play-based approach to children's learning and development
* Have high expectations for all our children
* Good communication skills both written and verbal along with good numeracy skills

Holidays must be taken during school closure periods. The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).

This post requires you to be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Initially the post will be fixed term with a view to the position becoming permanent.

Hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm – Wednesday 8.30am to 4.30pm to attend staff meetings.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to plan and deliver a 15 to 20-minute activity with a small group of children, which will develop the learners’ curiosities.
