Teacher Gilfach Fargoed Primary School
Job description
Gilfach Fargoed and Park Primary Schools Federation

Main Scale Teacher or NQT for a Reception, Y1 or Y2 class at Gilfach Fargoed Primary

Fixed term contract until 31st August 2024

Start date 1st September 2023 (pending pre-employment and safeguarding checks)

The Governors of our federated schools are seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and committed teacher for one of our infant classes. Governors are looking for a skilful and innovative practitioner, who will work as an integral part of our highly successful team, bringing particular interest and expertise in Health and Wellbeing, Humanities or Expressive Arts, with the ability to take a leading role in one of these areas. Having had considerable experience as a Learning Network School, we are proud of our excellent maths pedagogy; understanding of the CPA approach would be very beneficial.

As a federation, newly appointed teachers could be required to work in either school, which is an exciting opportunity for professional development.

We are looking for someone who:
  • is hard-working and enthusiastic, willing to support all aspects of the school's work and its strong, caring ethos;
  • is a passionate and inspirational teacher who is committed to delivering engaging and impactful learning experiences for young children, with a track record of effective practice;
  • is committed to raising achievement for all;
  • is keen to offer a range of personal skills and abilities to enrich our school community, both during the school day and beyond;
  • understands the importance of maintaining high standards of literacy, numeracy and digital competence, and has high standards, personally, in these areas;
  • is able to work as part of a highly effective team collaborating very well with teachers and teaching assistants within the setting;
  • has the dedication to work in a thriving and forward-looking federation of schools in order to develop both schools further;
  • has good skills in behaviour management;
  • wants to be at the forefront of curriculum design and the reform agenda.

We can offer:
  • enthusiastic, well-behaved children who enjoy learning;
    supportive parents and governors;
  • a welcoming, caring school with a positive ethos, where pupils feel safe and achieve well;
  • excellent opportunities for personal and professional development;
  • a well-resourced school with lots of potential for outdoor learning;
  • the support of a highly effective team, keen to fulfil the potential of the new curriculum.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 21st June.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to teach a lesson to Reception on Wednesday 28th June.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 29th June.
