Applicants are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to join the team at Glan Llyn Primary School in Newport, which opened in September 2019.

Glan Llyn Primary School is an English-medium, community-maintained school and provides education for children aged between 3 years and 11 years. It has been established on a growing school basis to support the growing Glan Llyn housing development within the Lliswerry cluster of primary schools. The school also has two dedicated learning resource base classes to support pupils with additional learning needs. The school currently has 285 pupils on roll and will continue to grow until the full capacity of 488 pupils (464 FTE) is realised in 2022.

The Headteacher and Governing Body are committed to establishing a community school with a strong, inclusive ethos, where a culture of positivity, motivation and aspiration prevails and where excellence is standard.

We require Midday Supervisors to work for 1 hour 30 minutes a day, Monday – Friday, term-time only (38 weeks per year). Hours will be 12:00pm – 1:30pm.

Duties will include:

- Arriving in school promptly and greeting the children warmly as they enter the dining hall.
- Encouraging the children to enjoy their dining experience with their friends and support them where needed.
- Supervising the children whilst eating and keeping the dining area clean and tidy.
- Supporting our aim of developing positive and respectful relationships.
- Adopting a fair, calm and consistent approach in dealing with incidents in line with school policies.
- Playing an active part in supporting the children to engage in exciting and adventurous play on the playground, sports pitch and in the classroom.
- Any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the Headteacher or member of the Leadership Team.
