Job description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our vibrant and high-quality Flying Start Childcare for 2 new part-time Childcare Leaders. The post will be a fixed term contract of 20 hours until 31st March 2025 with potential to extend subject to ongoing Flying Start funding.

We require these posts to be filled as soon as possible to adhere to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards. The post holder will be required to supervise the daily running of a childcare setting and manage a team of childcare staff. The Leader will mainly be located in one of our settings, however, due to the nature of the service the post holder may be required to support other Flying Start Settings located throughout the Caerphilly Borough.

The Childcare Leader is responsible for managing a childcare team to deliver high quality provision; supporting and encouraging the engagement of parents/carers and children; monitoring and evaluating attendance and take up rates; ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision; ensuring an inclusive and respectful environment; supporting children with additional and emerging needs; and working with multi agency partners to deliver the programme seamlessly.

The leader is required to be qualified to Level 3 with 2 years post qualifying experience. They must be near completion or have achieved QCF Level 5 Childcare Learning and Development to be compliant with Welsh Government Flying Start Guidelines.
