Job description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our vibrant and high quality Flying Start Childcare for a new Childcare Assistant. The post will be a fixed term contract of 30 hours until 31 st March 2025 with potential to extend subject to ongoing Flying Start funding.

We require this post to be filled as soon as possible to adhere to Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards. The post holder will be required to support the daily running of a childcare setting be part of a team of childcare staff. The Assistant will mainly be located in one of our settings, however, due to the nature of the service the post holder may be required to support other Flying Start Settings located throughout the Caerphilly Borough.

The Childcare Assistant is responsible for supporting a childcare team to deliver high quality childcare provision; establishing effective relationships with parents/carers and children; supporting the monitoring and evaluating of the programme; working with the team to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision; supporting an inclusive and respectful environment; supporting children with additional and emerging needs; and working with multi agency partners to deliver the programme seamlessly.

The Assistant is required to be qualified to Level 2 (pay grade 4) or Level 3 (pay grade 5) in the relevant qualification. The Post holders will also be familiar with Welsh Government Flying Start Quality Childcare Guidelines.
