Role Title: Animal Care Coordinator

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? Coleg Cambria is seeking an Animal Care Coordinator to join our Northop site team.

As the Animal Care Coordinator, you'll lead and manage a team of technicians to ensure the health and welfare of our animal collection, providing high-quality support for all learners and clients to support the mission and strategic objectives of the college.

You'll be responsible for meeting governing body standards for animal care, maintaining appropriate veterinary care, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. You'll also manage practical facilities and resources, including procuring and maintaining materials, resources, and accommodation, as well as upgrading facilities to meet the curriculum needs.

As a leader, you'll recruit, train, and develop your team of animal technicians, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines. You'll also be on-call for animal emergency situations and may be required to travel for veterinary attention.

To succeed in this role, you'll have a passion for animal welfare and a proven track record of effective leadership and management. You'll be selfless, accountable, and committed to good governance principles, and you'll thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Educated to a minimum level 4 in a relevant animal related subject, or equivalent proven professional experience.
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience of or the ability to lead, coach and inspire a team.
  • Comprehensive experience of working within the animal industry and in caring for a wide range of animals.
  • Management qualification or be prepared to work towards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Flexible and able to work on-call for consultation on animal emergency situations.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
