Salary: Grade 7 - £26,845 x 76.82%

The Headteacher and Governors of Penyrenglyn Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a Family Engagement and Well-Being Officer to support the well-being and learning of our pupils and their families.
Penyrenglyn Community Primary School serves the villages of Ynyswen, Penyrenglyn and Treherbert. The present building was opened in 2003 to replace the former Penyrenglyn Junior and Infant schools, followed by the closure of Treherbert Infants School in 2006 and Ynyswen Infants School in 2014. The school has 191 pupils, which comprises of: Full Time Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. The school provides many excellent facilities including large, bright airy classrooms, a large multi-purpose hall, library, a new community kitchen, a range of Information Technology resources, extensive grounds with canopied areas, outdoor learning facilities with access to the adjacent Baglan Sports Pitch which has a full-size 3G football pitch, as well as three 5-a-side pitches. The school also has a designated Forest School site in the neighbouring woodlands. The children also benefit from a nurture room where our Family Engagement Officer is based.
The post holder will be required to work throughout the school and have experience of working with individual and groups of children and families to nurture and enhance well-being and learning.

You will be required: -
• To use initiative to set up and organise family learning and support groups
• To carry out administrative tasks and referrals to agencies
• To support individual and groups of children with emotional and behavioural needs to promote their well-being
• To be flexible but consistent in approach, be reliable and patient, and exhibit a calm professional manner at all times
• To have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and form excellent working relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• To liaise closely with multi agencies to support pupils and their families
