Job description
27.5 hours – Term Time - Permanent

The Governors of Garth Primary School wish to appoint a highly motivated and supportive Family Engagement Officer to strengthen links between the school, families and the wider community.

We would like to hear from enthusiastic, positive practitioners who can demonstrate their experience in working directly with parents/carers and families.

Candidates must have a good understanding of effective family engagement strategies within a primary school setting and the ability to identify and respond to the needs of parents/carers and families.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team in an inclusive environment which is committed to the achievement and wellbeing of the whole school community.

The successful candidate will:

Be flexible, reliable, patient and exhibit a calm, professional manner at all times;

Have the ability to engage with children and their families and be flexible in approach to support the demands of this role;

Use their own initiative to set up and organise programmes, projects and family learning;

Work independently and alongside a range of key staff and external agencies;

Support pupils and families to ensure regular attendance and implement initiatives in order to promote and improve attendance and punctuality;

Use their initiative to access funding streams to further support pupils and families;

Have a commitment to continuing professional development;

Have excellent communication, interpersonal, IT and organisational skills.
