This successful, happy school is looking to appoint 2 enthusiastic, dedicated and flexible Level 3 Teaching Assistants (grade 5) to work within our mainstream team. Applicants will be expected to have NVQ Level 3 Education and Childcare or a corresponding qualification.

The Governing Body is keen to appoint 2 teaching assistants who demonstrate high standards of supporting learning within Curriculum for Wales. Experience of working with children with additional learning needs will be an advantage. The school will support the successful candidates to develop its role and provide high quality professional learning opportunities.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • work effectively as part of a flexible, busy team and demonstrate a positive attitude towards the development and growth of the school,
  • work under the guidance of, and with the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work
  • support the teacher in preparing and organising resources
  • cover whole classes during the short- term absence of teachers
  • to support class teachers with assessment procedures
  • encouraging positive behaviour in our children and assisting them in achieving high standards and enjoyment of learning;
  • use specific positive behaviour management strategies;
  • to support pupils to acquire a strong grasp of the Welsh language;
  • to understand and have prior experience of meeting the needs of pupils with Additional Learning needs and practice
  • Be prepared to commit to professional learning opportunities to broaden understanding of effective teaching and learning.
