An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Welsh Medium Coach - Creative Media within the Creative department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based across Campuses.

Responsibilities include:
  • Responsible to Head and Deputy Head of Creative Industries for the day-to-day management of the bilingual creative curriculum media programme to ensure it meets Welsh Government requirements in all aspects of its operation. To create a Welsh/bilingual culture, which encourages high personal standards during theory and practical elements of the curriculum.
  • To work with staff and students to design and implement Welsh/Bilingual opportunities both in and outside of the classroom as well as cross college and external events in particular to help raise the importance of the Welsh language within the world of creative industries, showcasing opportunities that can present to all students.
  • Implement a succession-planning Welsh/Bilingual development programme to meet the levels of Welsh for all students, demonstrating development, growth and confidence during creative sessions and events.
  • Monitor and manage the development of all students across the creative department.
  • Work with the Head and Deputy Head of Creative Industries to ensure all groups of media students are timetabled on a regular basis.
  • Work with the Welsh curriculum manager and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to ensure Welsh Government targets and data are achieved and recorded.
  • Develop a Welsh/Bilingual creative strategy which is coherent to all students and recognises the language strengths and areas for development for all individuals.
  • Welsh language skills are essential for this role.
