The Role

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking an excellent, creative and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Welsh Language Immersion Partnership.

The postholder will:

• Support the teacher in delivering a high‑quality language immersion experience for pupils who are new to Welsh‑medium education
• Work directly with small groups and individual learners to develop confidence and fluency in Welsh
• Monitor learner progress and record observations to inform next steps
• Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
• Support language acquisition approaches, including play‑based learning, interactive activities and immersion strategies
• Support learners with Additional Learning Needs, using trauma‑informed and neurodiversity‑aware approaches
• Work closely with parents/guardians, school leaders and partner agencies
• Collaborate with colleagues in other immersion centres locally and beyond

This role will be key in ensuring excellent immersion provision and equity for all learners.
