Role Title : Sustainability and Environmental Specialist

Location : Deeside (primary) / multi-site

Contract Type : Full Time/ Fixed Term for 12 months

Salary: £34,236 - £38,139

Coleg Cambria are now looking for a Sustainability and Environmental Specialist to join our Estates and Facilities team and will report to the Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager. As a Sustainability and Environmental Specialist, you will work towards improving the sustainability and environmental credentials of the college whilst ensuring compliance with appropriate government legislation. You will be expected to identify and implement efficiencies throughout all five college sites to help minimise energy usage, as well as looking to utilise new technologies to improve overall efficiency and to help further the college as an aspirational environment for our learners and as a benchmark for other organisations. You will be proficient in managing projects to help you achieve this. . You will be involved in developing a road map and strategy to help guide the college to achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2030. You will also provide professional support and advice on sustainability to college learners, staff, managers, governors and external stakeholders as required. At times you will also be expected to support the Health & Safety team with day to day operations.

Essential Requirements
  • You must have a relevant degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in a sustainability role in a medium/ large organisation.
  • Track record of developing and delivering sustainability policy and initiatives.
  • Up to date and sound knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental management practices and principles.
  • Experience of delivering training and presentations to larger audiences.
  • Experience of dealing with complex technical issues and finding solutions.
  • Experience of implementing health and safety systems, undertaking projects.
