About the role

Number of Pupils: 90 (Ages 4-11)
Teaching Assistant Level 2 for two terms with the possibility of extending the agreement.
New Quay Primary School is keen to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for 32.5 hours a week to work in the school. Jobshare would be considered.
The successful candidate will work with a learner on a 1-1 basis under the guidance of the class teacher.
It would be advantageous for the applicant to have experience of caring for children of primary school age and of working with children with additional learning needs.

- establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and be aware of individual needs and responding appropriately to them
- encourage pupils to interact with others and to take part in activities led by the teacher
- encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate
- maintaining the pupil's records as requested
- support the teacher in managing the pupil's behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate
- collect/report information from/to parents/carers as directed
