Salary scale 6: £29,689- £31,714 per annum (Pro Rata - Hourly Paid £15.39 - £16.44 ) Casual (up to 24 hours per week), during Term-Time Only

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Bridgend College for a BSL Communication Support Worker, based within the Additional Learning Needs Support Team.

The main purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and effective service supporting hearing impaired students across the College through interpreting for them through the medium of British Sign Language and/or lip speak.

As the BSL Communication Support Worker you will:
  • Provide full communication support (sign language/lip speak) as appropriate for each learner(s).
  • To scribe lesson notes and/or materials if required for the learner(s).
  • To support the learner(s) to participate in educational programmes under the supervision of the lecturers.
  • To support the learner(s) on any community based educational programmes and visits, which form part of their programme.
  • To support the learner(s) to develop their literacy and numeracy skills.
