About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a leader with relevant experience and a sound understanding of all aspects of the continuing education reforms in Wales, with Curriculum for Wales at the centre. This post involves the strategic leadership and accountability for the breadth of curriculum reform within Powys schools, where each learner benefits from a broad and balanced education and where leaders have a shared commitment to a culture of high standards.
The post involves the further development of the realisation of the Curriculum for Wales through co-construction with practitioners through established school clusters. In addition to this, is the focus on the development of the national approach to professional learning, educational research and enquiry, coaching and mentoring to enable our teachers to experience a wide range of professional learning, including digital learning to further explore their pedagogy.
A key aspect of the role is to understand the national aspirations and ensure they align to our regional and local priorities including the continued development of effective self-evaluation and improvement planning through schools as learning organisations as well as the importance of Health and Wellbeing underpinning whole school ethos and practice in Powys
This is a challenging role requiring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to embed the education system that our learners in Powys deserve.
