SALTSA (Speech and language therapy support assistant)

About the role
Hours: 34 hours pro rata over 5 days a week, school term time only.

We are looking to recruit a SALTSA (speech and language therapy support assistant) to join our additional learning needs Team (ALN), on a temporary contract, during maternity leave.

The post will include visiting primary schools across the Authority to provide speech and language therapy sessions for individual pupils across Ceredigion's primary schools. The successful individual will work within schools under the guidance of the speech therapist.

Daily you will:
  • visit schools to provide pupil individual speech and language therapy intervention sessions
  • provide advice and resources, also model appropriate strategies to meet learners' needs to ensure pupils' progress
We are looking to recruit an individual who has:
  • experience of leading a range of pupil support interventions within schools
  • experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs
  • attended and received ELKLAN training
  • interested in working towards the HLTA qualification where this is not already in place
In addition to the above, we require an individual with a level of fluency in the Welsh language.
