The Headteacher and Governing Body of Bishopston Primary School wish to appoint an Administration & Organisation Assistant to provide, administrative, clerical and secretarial support in this happy, caring and successful school.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has proven ability and expertise, and can demonstrate the highest standards. The successful candidate will be a creative thinker who embraces change and believes in teamwork and collaboration.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience as a school secretary and be able to carry out duties and responsibilities as set out in the job description. You will work closely with the Headteacher, senior management team, staff, parents, children and governors. The ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to the school is essential.
In addition to the usual administrative tasks, responsibilities will include, maintaining and updating databases and spreadsheets, purchasing, processing invoices, dealing with complex reception/visitor matters, liaising with parents in a confident and friendly manner. The role will also involve acting as clerk to Governors, although this aspect of the role might start at a later date than the main start date.

We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
- Is able to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team
- Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, suitable for working in a busy school office
- Have a confident and approachable attitude, as well as the ability to work well under pressure
- Has good literacy/numeracy skills and excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages
- Experience of using HWB, SIMS and FMS would advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided
- Will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
- Be innovative and flexible in their approach
