Coleg Gwent is looking for an enthusiastic graduate to deliver on our exciting new engineering curriculum with courses up to Level 5 at the Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone (Ebbw Vale) and the new HiVE Campus that is also in Ebbw Vale. This post would suit engineers from a range of backgrounds including maths/physics teachers with engineering degrees currently working in secondary schools/FE or HE. The role is likely to grow as the curriculum at the HiVE expands.
As a Lecturer in Engineering, you will be capable of delivering on a number of programmes ensuring that learners receive a high quality learning experience. Duties will include the delivery and assessment of all practical and theoretical units on various courses up to Level 5. You will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of student progress, both in the workshop and the classroom.
The ideal candidate will be an engineering graduate, have a teaching Qualification, e.g. PGCE, Certificate of Education or equivalent, or the desire to achieve within two years. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or knowledge in the fields of aeronautical, motorsport/automotive or general engineering. Experience of advanced/composite materials technology would also be an advantage.
