Finance Assistant (External Funding)

Currently £20,997 - £22,961 BAR £23,239 - £24,918

This is an 8 point extended scale with progression incrementally on an annual basis. Please note, progression beyond the bar is dependent on an internal set of conditions. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College's starting salaries matrix.
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week-equivalent to 4 days per week

Although these hours would generally be worked over 4 days, for the right candidate consideration will be given to hours being worked flexibly over 5 days

Contract Type: Salaried - Permanent

Qualifications :It is essential to hold a minimum Level 2 in Finance qualification such as AAT or equivalent. It is however highly desirable to hold (or be working towards) a Level 3 finance qualification. If not held, you will be required to undertake and achieve during employment.
Experience:

You will have excellent IT skills, together with current extensive experience of using spreadsheets within a finance related role and;

Experience of processing large volumes of paperwork and working in a busy office environment

Experience of monitoring funded projects is highly desirable, though not essential.
You will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude together with the ability to work to regular targets and deadlines which all contribute to the financial integrity and success of projects.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as being a strong team player.
The role will involve maintaining financial and non-financial records for externally funded projects to auditable standards as specified by the funding bodies. Preferred candidates will ideally have experience of using financial software and are working towards their AAT.
This role will be predominantly based on the College site, with an element of home working available for one to two days per week by agreement with the line manager.
