Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate to the key role of Primary Phase Lead 3-16 within the Abertillery Learning Community (ALC). We are looking for an ambitious leader who can demonstrate an understanding of the main challenges facing foundation phase and KS2, who also has the ability and vision to focus on a seamless transition to KS3 and a relentless focus on standards required at KS4.
The Phase Lead will report to the Headteacher and the Governing Body to establish the all through education ethos across the Learning Community. Leading a specific primary phase, the priority will be to work with the 3-16 Senior Leadership Team to address teaching and learning, Curriculum Reform and Schools as Learning Organisations in order to ensure that ALC achieves its ambition for all children to realise their potential. The successful candidate will have a strong record of leadership and management in a challenging educational environment. They will also have proven experience to take operational, day to day responsibility for a primary campus supported by a strong middle leadership team.
ALC is an all through Learning Community based in the town of Abertillery. It is comprised of a Secondary Campus and 3 Primary campuses, Six Bells Campus, Roseheyworth Rd Campus and Tillery St Campus. It is an exciting and unique organisation and, as a multi campus all through school, all staff are afforded a wide range of opportunities for carefully co-ordinated cross phase working that supports both learner and staff development.
