The Specialist Centre is a Powys resource and is based at Ysgol Maesydderwen. There is a close working relationship between the centre and the school. There are no more than 12 learners within the centre. The curriculum for learners is a mixture of support within the centre and joining mainstream lessons within the school.

Ysgol Maesydderwen is situated in beautiful south Powys, the catchment area of which includes part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Waterfall Country. Ideally situated in the small town of Ystradgynlais, the school is within easy reach of Cardiff, Swansea and South-West Wales.

The Governors are looking to appoint a Teacher in Charge of the Specialist Centre. The successful candidate will provide leadership to raise outcomes for learners.
