Location of post: Neath Library/Library HQ, Ynysmaerdy School, Briton Ferry
We are currently looking for a new person to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the smooth running and maintenance of the Library Service IT systems and digital resources.
The main duties of the post;
To support branch libraries in the management of IT systems.
To assist in the development, implementation and promotion of digital resources for the Library Service.
To assist in the development of a digital skills training programme for the Library Service.
To contribute to the development of the Library Service website.
To provide training and support to Community Managed Libraries.
To support the Social Media and Promotions Group in the development of digital resources.
To undertake projects commensurate with the grade and duties of the post as required by the Library Service Manager.
You will have experience o f working with IT software and systems as well as providing IT support across a service.
Experience of troubleshooting IT problems and be able to work on and learn a Library Management System and how to maintain it.
Other key factors would be the a bility to deliver effective informal training and support to IT users.
Ability to problem solve IT issues.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to team activities
Ability to provide guidance to Library staff
Ability to engage with customers, colleagues and partners in an appropriate manner to ensure high quality service delivery
Ability to take effective action when identifying areas of performance that do not meet required service standards
Ability to seek digital solutions.
Ideally you will have;
G ood standard of education, minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent, grades A-C which should include English
