Job description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work alongside the TLR at our first Satellite provision, which opened in September 2021 at Crossgates Primary school, Llandrindod Wells. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of this exciting transformation for Powys County Council as part of the ALN transformation.
The post is for 32.5 hrs per week term time only: Monday - Friday
You will need to be suitably qualified with a minimum of GCSE in English or Welsh and Maths (or equivalent); you need to be committed to your own professional development and be willing to undertake other appropriate training, preferably leading to NVQ 2.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Penmaes school team, but based at the Satellite provision working under the overall supervision of the TLR with responsibility for the provision.
The Level 1 teaching assistant will support the TLR in facilitating the learning and well-being of individual pupils or groups. You will provide appropriate care for those pupils who are personally dependent on adults in having their needs met. This may include meeting their toileting needs with associated moving and handling requirements. The post requires a committed and flexible approach as the wellbeing of all our pupils is highly important.
