Purpose of the Post.
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
• To operate the till during service, collection of money from paying customers, keeping a record of individuals who receive free meals and check who is entitled against the free meals register. Keeping a record of the number of meals served, ensuring the amount of money collected is correct and banking the income daily
• This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of its staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Main Duties
• Operating the till by following manufacturer's instructions.
• Keeping a correct account of the amount and type of meals served.
• Collecting money from paying customers and checking income received corresponds with the till reading.
• Recording of daily business and sending weekly and monthly reports to the Council.
• Recording of individuals who are entitled to free meals and reporting of irregularities to the school.
• Banking of income collected daily from the catering service, recording in the bank book, and recording the total income banked on forms that comply to Gwynedd Council guidelines.
• Assisting the Cook in Charge with general kitchen duties, setting up the dining room and following general cleaning methods.
• Any other duties that are relevant to the service at the Cook in Charge's request.
• Responsibility for self-development.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
• Operate within the Council's policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
• Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council's information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
• Commitment to reducing the Council's carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council's Carbon Footprint.
