Job description
Teaching Assistant Level 1 for SNRB for learners with complex needs from Y1-6

Grade 3 Level 1

The Governing Body of Cwmcarn Primary School wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant, on a permanent basis starting after the Easter holidays on Monday April 8 th or as soon as possible thereafter.

The school already has two highly successful complex needs class for up to 16 learners. The successful candidate will be expected to support the teacher in class with flexible, child-centred programmes of study for individuals with a variety of complex learning difficulties.

You might have experience of working with pupils with additional educational needs and integrating them successfully into a busy and vibrant primary school or an ability to learn quickly and a passion for working with children with complex needs. All staff working in the SRBs are involved in intimate care when required, such as help with toileting or changing children.

The successful candidate will:

  • have some experience of working with children in a school setting.
