NPTC Group of Colleges

NPTC Group of Colleges is a thriving Further Education College which has nine campuses across Wales. They stretch from the picturesque coast in the south, through the beautiful mountains in mid-Wales and on to the lush green pastures in the north. From Swansea, Neath Port Talbot to Brecon and Newtown, we deliver courses in every conceivable area to students, businesses and the community. 

We employ professional and dedicated staff in academic and supportive roles who also deliver the highest standards of education and training and are the driving force of our success.  They have a wealth of experience and have not only built a strong reputation in the UK but also on an international level where programmes have been delivered overseas in China and India.

We are pleased to have developed a number of programmes and professional training courses, including degree programmes to help career progression and these are in partnership with a range of prestigious Higher Education institutions such as The University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Glyndwr University, University of South Wales and Pearson.

These include the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specifically designed for Post 16 to work in further education and the broader post-compulsory sector and the Professional Certificate in Education (PCE) along with the Certificate in Training Assessment and Quality Assurance. As a starting point, we also offer qualifications and training in Teaching Support and for those aspiring to climb in their careers, we also offer Management and Leadership courses and training.

We are really good at what we do, and that’s official according to Estyn. Our latest report highlighted the Colleges’ excellent engagement with employers that shapes our provision to meet local need. Our students develop behaviours that support their career aspirations and we prepare them for progression to higher level learning and employment. Our students feel safe and supported, and most importantly Estyn believes our teachers are well qualified, and experienced, with useful industrial, commercial and business experience.

It’s this quality of teaching and dedication to providing outstanding facilities that have been continuously recognised over the last couple of years. In 2019, we were named as the Top Training Provider in Wales by the School Leavers Awards. The College was also ranked second in the whole UK for the quality of teaching, fourth for the learner experience, fifth for providing personal support and 10th for our assessment and feedback. In the same year, our Sixth Form Academy Hub at Neath College also gained an award for improving the student experience at the Education Building Wales Awards.

In 2020, the College stormed the awards again, being named as the Top Training Provider in Wales, one of the Top Ten Training Providers in the UK and shortlisted for three categories; the Top Apprenticeship Provider in the UK; Best Further Education College for Apprenticeship Training in the UK, and Best Learning Experience.

We were rated 'Good' by Estyn in 2020 and according to our 2023 Student Satisfaction Survey 2023, 95% of our current students recommend us.
