An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide training and support to a group of interns with additional learning needs (ALN) at host business workplaces.

Using job coaching techniques, you will teach the essential tasks/skills of the job and support young people’s development towards employability and independence. Working with the interns and relevant stakeholders, you will identify and seek appropriate support and employment consistent with their interests and skills.

You will be responsible for the induction and ongoing assessment of the interns’ progress, providing regular feedback to interns and team members, co-ordinating job coaching and completing necessary evaluations and reports.

37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time only)
Pro-rata salary: £17,607 - £19,166

With a level 3 qualification and five GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent, you will have excellent organisation and problem solving skills, along with the ability to positively influence and motivate a diverse range of interns.

Experience of supporting initial assessments and delivering employment skills will be required, as well as an understanding of the barriers to training and employment for students with ALN and appropriate reasonable adjustments.

In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills to liaise effectively internally and externally with stakeholders.

Flexibility and the ability to travel locally to different work placement sites as necessary is essential.
