The management committee of Ty Dysgu Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is seeking to appoint a motivated teacher for a class of pupils with Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). These pupils also have a range of additional learning needs (ALN), including autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent classroom practice, along with specific experience or qualifications in SEBD, and a strong commitment to working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our learners at Ty Dysgu. The teacher will be required to work closely with other class teachers, parents/carers, and supporting professionals to enable pupils to make progress across the curriculum.
Ty Dysgu is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) maintained by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, providing education for pupils aged 3-16 years with SEBD and other ALN. Ty Dysgu is seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative, and resilient teacher to work with a class of Key Stage 2/3 pupils as part of the revolving door provision. The post holder will be required to work closely with mainstream schools and external agencies to support pupil reintegration. Experience of working with pupils with SEBD and other ALN across both primary and secondary phases, would be advantageous.
