Practical Skills Supervisor - Fabrication and Welding, Term Time

Salary: Actual salary - £29,399.31 - £31,367.73, dependent on qualifications and experience

Under the general guidance of lecturing staff the Practical Skills Supervisor will deliver practical sessions to groups of learners within a practical workshop and will provide support to lecturers by monitoring and assessing learner progress, providing guidance and support where required. They will be responsible for assessing learners' work and working with lecturers to carry out internal quality assurance activities and to prepare for external quality assurance activities as well. This role currently supports the delivery of L2 Diploma in Marine Engineering, L3 Diploma in Marine Engineering, L2 PEO (Fibre-glassing & Painting) and L1 PEO so an ideal candidate would possess these skills.

Typically the Full time Practical Skills Supervisor will be timetabled for up to 1000 hours in each academic year for direct contact with learners and with a minimum of 500 hours per annum of class supervision in a practical workshop setting.

Holiday Entitlement

• 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years' continuous service (01 September to 31 August).

• All normally observed public holidays, determined annually.

• Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.

Term Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above paid as part of annual salary.
