The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an outstanding deputy headteacher with the qualities and skills to enable this improving school to achieve aspirational outcomes for its pupils. We need an excellent primary practitioner and inspirational leader and manager to assist the Headteacher in building on the school's successes and leading it into its next phase of development.
The successful applicant will have:
• A proven record of excellent classroom practice,
• A clear vision of what makes an outstanding school,
• Up to date knowledge of ALN transformation and Curriculum for Wales ,
• An ability to teach Welsh in the Primary Curriculum,
• A commitment to the promotion of the Welsh language and culture,
• Inspirational leadership and management skills,
• A proven record of successfully implementing new initiatives including the new curriculum,
• An excellent understanding of curriculum development, progress and assessment and pedagogy,
• The ability to work collaboratively with the headteacher in all aspects of the school's work,
• The ability to work effectively with staff, governors, parents and the wider community.
The governors will provide support for the successful candidate who will demonstrate a commitment to work closely with the headteacher to provide high quality leadership and the best possible education for the pupils of Heolgerrig Community School.
