We have two vacancies for enthusiastic and energetic classroom assistants to join our team.

The newly appointed LSAs will be expected to work across all of our provisions from Foundation Phase to Key Stage 4. We are the Local Authority provision to support pupils with a variety of needs including SEBD. The provision caters for up to 48 pupils with a high staff to pupil ratio. We are currently going through an exciting period of change, where we will be co-locating the Primary and Secondary sites within the next academic year under the direction and guidance of the newly appointed Head of centre.

Key duties for the role are to:
• Plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individuals, groups and classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher
• Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment
• Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate
• Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils' learning
• Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
• Assist in developing and implementing Individual development plans ,in conjunction with the class teacher for pupil with additional learning needs, as well as attending/contributing to Person Centred Planning meetings
• Cover PPA and short term illness when required
• Invigilate Exams
• Escort and supervise pupils on educational and out of school activities, which could include driving the school 9 seater vehicle
• Work with pupils not working to the normal timetable
• Support the role of parents / carers in pupils' learning and contribute to meetings with parents / carers to provide constructive feedback on pupil progress/achievement etc
• Learning Support Assistants at this level are expected to undertake the following:
Provide support to pupils with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties
Provide support to pupils where English is not their first language
Provide support to more able and talented pupils
